Both upgrades have a free trial, so you can file a real box or run a real batch of orders before you decide.

  1. Start it in the app

    Open Plans & Pricing from the Magical Piles menu, from Settings › Purchases, or by clicking any action with a lock icon. Then click Start 14-day free trial.

  2. No payment info

    Starting a trial doesn’t ask for a card, and nothing is charged when it ends.

  3. 14 days, once each

    Every feature in that upgrade is unlocked for 14 days from the moment you start it; a Seller trial includes the Collector features. There’s one trial per upgrade, and a chip in the sidebar counts down the days.

  4. Nothing is locked away

    When a trial ends, everything you recorded stays viewable, exportable, and deletable. Only that upgrade’s actions, like filing cards or importing packing slips, lock until you buy it.

Your data is yours

Paying never decides what you can take with you.

Whatever plan you’re on, and whether or not you ever upgrade, your collection belongs to you.

Export All Data is free forever

One zip with CSVs of everything, files in ManaBox, Moxfield, TCGplayer, and Mana Pool formats, your decklists, and the raw database. Run it any time from File › Export All Data (⌥⌘E) or Settings › Your Data. What’s in the zip

Trials end without taking anything

When a trial ends, nothing you recorded is locked or deleted. It stays viewable and exportable, and you can still delete it, clear cards out of storage locations, revert orders, and edit every deck you already have. Only that upgrade’s actions lock until you buy it.

Your collection lives on your Mac

Cards, decks, storage, and sales are kept in a database on your Mac. Only the decks and binders you choose to share are uploaded to us; features like Mana Pool and a cloud AI provider send only what they need, straight to that service. See the privacy policy.

Pricing questions.

Is there a subscription?

No. Casual Player is free, and each upgrade is a one-time purchase in the Mac App Store. Pay once and it’s yours.

Can I move between plans later?

Yes. You can go from Casual Player to either upgrade at any time. If you already own Hardcore Player & Collector, you can upgrade to Seller for regular price $34.99 launch price $24.49$34.99 instead of buying Seller outright. Everything you’ve recorded carries over; there’s nothing to move.

What happens when my free trial ends?

Nothing you recorded is locked or deleted. You can always view, export, and delete your data, including storage locations and location codes, sales history, tracking numbers, and profit. Decks you already built beyond the free three stay fully editable, you can still clear cards out of a storage location, and you can still revert an order. What locks again until you buy the plan is that upgrade’s actions: for Collector, creating a 4th deck, filing cards and editing locations, pull lists, and the AI Deck Advisor; for Seller, importing packing slips and Mark as Sold, TCGTracking shipping, Import TCGplayer Inventory, and listing on and syncing with Mana Pool. There’s one trial per upgrade, and it never asks for payment details. See When a trial ends in the docs.

Do future updates cost extra?

Minor updates and bug fixes are free for everyone. What you buy today unlocks the features listed on this page in the current version of Magical Piles.

Does it work with Family Sharing?

Family Sharing support is coming soon. Check the Mac App Store listing for whether it’s available yet.

How do refunds work?

Purchases are made through the Mac App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I got a new Mac. Do I pay again?

No. Sign in to the Mac App Store with the same Apple Account, then click Restore Purchases in Magical Piles: it’s at the bottom of the Plans & Pricing window and in Settings › Purchases. See Restore Purchases in the docs.

Does the AI Deck Advisor cost extra?

The upgrade unlocks the feature; it doesn’t include AI usage. You choose where suggestions come from. With a cloud provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, Google, OpenRouter, Mistral, or DeepSeek), the Deck Advisor sends your deck list and eligible Keeps card names using your own API key, stored in your Mac’s Keychain, and that provider bills your account separately from Magical Piles. A local model in Ollama or LM Studio, or Apple Intelligence on a Mac that supports it, costs nothing extra.
